Chef John Harry
John was born and raised in the low country of coastal Georgia, and is currently residing in Big Sur, CA. He has found a well of inspiration through the many people he has met in his travels as a chef. He regularly tends to his personal garden and enjoys foraging and nature.
Seasonality and sustainability have been features in all the kitchens he has worked through — from his salad days(pun intended?) at 5&10 in Athens,GA, or at the cocktail/oyster powerhouse Kimball House in Decatur, GA, he is proud to have served with many decorated leaders and establishments.
More recently, John has found himself as Chef de Cuisine opening restaurants in Denver, CO(Hearth and Dram) and Santa Cruz, CA(Alderwood) A fascination with the wild coast of Big Sur led him to serve at the world renowned Post Ranch Inn. A focus on private chef work was born out of a desire to continue to provide comforting hospitality following restaurant closures during the pandemic.
Chef John is proficient in serving and cooking with cannabis and can consult you on how to tastefully and safely include cannabis in your next hospitality experience.
Chef is happy to accommodate all diets and can help you plan a menu to fit your needs including: vegan, vegetarian, keto, dairy free, gluten free, all allergies, & Kosher
John is available for private chef work all along California’s Central Coast and beyond.
